One week away from heading back to my Burn Camp Family! For the last 10 years these campers and counselors have been a second family to me. I have learned more about courage, compassion, acceptance and strength than I ever thought possible. I’m beyond grateful to be able to attend this camp each year. It has without a doubt changed, and continues to change, my life on so many levels. Well it’s been a hell of a ride these last 7 or so years. Despite the reputation it might have sometimes, I have met so many down to earth, caring, honest and talented people while living in LA. It’s definitely not easy to leave. For those I didn’t get to see before leaving, I’ll be back soon! I am very privileged to have gotten the opportunity to paint the song cover for @mikeburkemusic for the single “not just another day”. One of the best singer/songwriters around.

Taking inspiration from old receipt papers I jotted down some melodies on at a bar a couple years ago. After I took this photo I immediately thought of coming home from school as a kid and playing piano/singing. I’d pour a glass of water and rest it on top of the piano. My mom would call from work to make sure I got home ok and always said “I assume there are no drinks on the piano while your practicing...”. “No way ma! After over a year being away, about 100k air miles, 12 houses flipped and countless songs written, it will be good to sleep in my own bed tonight.
